Pontet Canet
France

In the early 18th century, Jean-François de Pontet, a Versailles courtier and governor of Médoc, invested in land near Pauillac to establish a vineyard. By acquiring the Canet estate in 1757 and merging his name with it, he founded Château Pontet-Canet in 1781, marking the birth of a historic wine estate shaped by aristocratic ambition and tradition.
